Alan's Weather- 08/18/11

There have already been a few passing showers and a thunderstorm. There will be the chance of a few more during the course of the day today. Otherwise, a mix of sunshine and some clouds with highs well into the 80s, but a bit cooler at the beach.

There's still the chance of a shower, especially near the Delaware River in a few spots early tonight, but most of the night will just be partly cloudy with some lows in the lower 60s and low 70s in the big cities and along the shore.

More humid Friday with a shower or thunderstorm possible at any time. Friday's highs in the 80s, but cooler again near the ocean.

And the weekend, unfortunately, there's the chance of a shower or thunderstorm either day. Otherwise, clouds and some sunshine and it will not be raining by any means, all the time on Saturday and Sunday. The weekends highs in the 80s, but a bit cooler at the beaches.

Tropics are becoming increasingly active. We have a disturbance in the central Caribbean Sea moving westward. It could be coming into a depression stage in the next 24 hours. A system that's well off the African coast needs to be monitored for signs of development. That could be a player in our weather by later next weekend, if it does finally develop.
