High temperatures yesterday worked out pretty much as expected in the low 90s. It was 92 in Atlantic City, 93 in Newark and Trenton.
Temperatures today, I think now, are going to be reaching the 80s because we have variable clouds, and any showers and thunderstorm activity holds off for the most part until this afternoon and this evening. It'll be cooler near the beach and boardwalk, but I think it'll be in the 80s in most places.
Finally, as this storm system passes by to our south this evening and tonight with more of a east-northeast wind, we'll have some rain moving through. Statewide lows in the mid 60s to lower 70s.
I think it'll start cloudy and damp tomorrow early with maybe some leftover light rain and drizzle. Then clouds may break for some sunshine during tomorrow afternoon with temperatures back in the 80s, but cooler near the ocean.
Friday looks good with partly sunny skies in the 80s again, but cooler again at the beach. There's some question about showers, especially by Saturday night and Sunday. Hopefully, most of Saturday is ok.
Emily is strengthening a bit as it heads towards the island of Ispanola. It'll cross that island in the next 24-36 hours, and then head for the Bahamas. It may come close to Florida, but probably remain off-shore, and probably remain off-shore of the southeastern coast of the United States before turning eastward and out to sea.
