Alan's Weather- 08/16/11

Monday's high temperatures reached as warm as 83 in Atlantic City, but my upper 70s and low 80s worked out after all. There was the scattering of showers and thunderstorms still present particularly in parts of central and northern New Jersey, but south Jersey had some storms in Cape May County.

Today, we'll have clouds and breaks of sunshine, but also still the chance of a few showers or a thunderstorm with most highs in the 70s, though I suppose it could 80 in far south New Jersey. But, it'll be 70s for the most part.

Then better weather ahead, becoming clear and more comfortable tonight with some lows of 57 to 62, but middle to upper 60s in urban and coastal areas.

Sunny tomorrow, a beautiful day, with modest humidity and temperatures well into the 80s, but cooler at the beaches.

The next weather system approaches Thursday late in the day with the chance of a shower or a thunderstorm later in the afternoon or evening especially. Clouds and some sunshine before then in the 80s, but cooler Thursday near the ocean.

As we look at the Tropics, of course we have Girth that is speeding away from Bermuda. We have a tropical wave in the eastern Caribbean that needs to be watched in the next few day. There is also something coming off the African coast, as well.
